Ana wa Sangalala- New primary school on the Chimpeni Estate This is our main current focus for the chairity. We are working in conjunction with the American Presbyterian church in order to build a new primary school, which will eventually cater for approximately 1000 children.
The land where the school is under construction was very kindly donated by Colin and Jane Thorneycroft on the Chimpeni Estate. Colin is overseeing the building of the school, ensuring that everything is being built to the highest standards possible.
We are extremely grateful to the whole Thorneycroft family for giving up their land and huge amounts of time. Without them, this would simply not be possible. The building of a new primary school on the Chimpeni estate has been an ambition of Jane's for many years. It is hoped that there will eventually be 8 classroom blocks (1 for each year group) and also teachers' accommodation.
Below are some picturs of the site with nothing built and then the first and second block which have been completed.
We are currently raising money for the next blocks.
